About Us
Kabis.NET is a Technology Solutions Consultancy in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia. We serve clientele from Vernon and Lake Country in the North through Kelowna and Westbank to Penticton, Peachland and Summerland in the South.
Our services can be broken down into three broad categories:
- Internet Solutions, which include Web Applications, Web Site design and development, database design and e-commerce.
In particular, we specialize in standards-compliant web site development using XHTML 1.0 Strict and CSS 2.0; which allows us to create web sites that are fully disabled - friendly, printer - friendly, accessible, cross - browser, cross - platform and backward - compatible without the need for multiple versions (Behold the power of web standards - print this page out, and compare it to what is on the screen!).
Essentially, we create one version of a web site that is accessible to everything and everyone; from the blind, the visually impared and disabled people to cell phones and handheld computers, all with no loss of content! How many web sites can say that, and still look good for the vast majority of visitors? Almost none...
Although conforming to web standards makes a lot of business sense (and can dramatically reduce development costs!), we are one of the only web developers in the Okanagan that do this. Why don’t others? Because most of them use Frontpage and Dreamweaver - fine hobbyist and beginner’s programs, but almost impossible to create business-quality, standards-compliant web sites with.
We also make use of ASP.NET, PHP, Macromedia Flash and databases to bring interactivity to the web sites we create. - Publishing Services, which include designing logos & letterheads, brochures, business cards, multimedia CD-Roms and DVD’s.
In addition to these publishing services, we have discovered a talent within ourselves for creating training material; brochures and manuals that effectively and efficiently convey new information to students and staff undergoing training.
One of our latest successes has been in creating course material customized for an organization that provides skills training to disinfranchised and lower-income Natives in British Columbia. - Computer Sales & Service, which include computer set-up, maintenance, repair, networking and electronic security.
While we provide support for almost any computerized requirement, our focus has been in providing electronic security to our clientele, in the hardening and securing of their computer systems.
And although most of our clients do not have confidential information to worry about, they rest easier knowing that their computers have not been compromised; and therefore are not being rented out by the hour by some cracker on the Internet or being used as a remote storage device by a dealer in child pornography.
Remember, almost 60% of all business computers and over 90% of all home computers are either undersecured or even completely unsecured. Are you sure your systems are really safe and secure? Don’t bet on it.
We also provide a full-service consultancy, which uses elements of all three categories to provide you with a full spectrum of technology requirements, from the creation and deployment of training materials (manuals, multimedia CD’s, etc.) and the modernization of business processes (e-commerce, management information systems, etc.) to a full corporate image workover and re-branding.
